  2. I quote a pickup window. Usually within 24-48 hours. Same-day pickups available Mon-Sat if you call before noon.
  3. I show up + load it up. Owner-operated — you talk to the person doing the work. No subcontractors, no dispatcher.
  4. Done. Your property is clear, the metal is hauled, and you owe me nothing for the pickup itself.

How & when you get paid

On copper and brass (the highest-value metals), I split the scrap-yard payout 50/50 once I weigh in at the local recycler. Other metals (steel, aluminum, mixed loads) typically don't have enough margin after fuel + time for a payout — I take those as my haul-away fee. Full transparency: I'll show you the weigh slip if you ask.

For loads under 50 lbs total, the pickup is free but no payout is split — fuel costs eat any small payout. For bigger loads, the 50/50 on copper/brass usually puts $20-$200+ in your pocket.

Is it really free?
Yes. No charge for the pickup itself, no minimum load size, no surprise fees. We make our money on the metal at the scrap yard — we don't need your money on top.
Will you take a full appliance (washer, dryer, fridge)?
Absolutely. Stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators (we handle Freon-containing units per EPA rules), water heaters — all of it. Disconnected = faster, but we can do live disconnections too for an extra $20-40.
Do I need to be home?
Not always. If the scrap is in an accessible spot (driveway, side yard, garage with code/key) we can pick up while you're at work. Just text us where it is.
What about lead batteries — aren't those regulated?
Yes, but they're easy. We haul them properly, they get recycled at a licensed facility. Federal RCRA rules require it; we follow them. You don't have to worry about anything.
How fast can you come?
Same day if you call before noon Mon-Sat. Otherwise within 24-48 hours. We're owner-operated so the response is as fast as one person can drive a truck.
